Rather than focusing only on the painful body part The Feldenkrais Method looks at the body holistically breaking down postural patterns that lead to strain, pain and injury. Feldenkrais works in tandem with your nervous system and its innate intelligence to sense movement and create new habits and patterns in the brain and muscles. Modern science refers to this ability to learn and create new pathways in the brain as Neuroplasticity. This capacity for learning and growing underpins the basis of the Feldenkrais Method and its profound potential. The Feldenkrais Method offers you an effective and engaging way to improve the way you move and allow you to engage in an active healthy lifestyle.
Two parts of the Feldenkrais Method
Functional Integration: One to one lessons where the practitioner use precise touch to create ease, alignment and awaken awareness. The lessons are individually tailored to your specific needs. Most students start their Feldenkrais journey with Functional Integration.
Awareness Through Movement: These are unique whole body movement lessons designed around a theme such as lengthening the spine or turning the head and eyes which capture your attention, feel good and leave you wanting more!
