'The only thing that is permanent about our behaviour patterns is our belief that they are so' - Moshe Feldenkrais
The traditional approach to musculoskeletal pain is to base treatment on a specific area of the body. The Feldenkrais Method looks at the problem holistically. Rather than focusing on the problem in a particular joint or area the focus is on the pattern or posture that maintains or creates the pain. The Feldenkrais Method is gentle but direct in teaching effective movement patterns based on the natural design of the body.
Israeli physicist Moshe Feldenkrais, who pioneered the method, made the simple observation that the way we move affects every aspect of our lives.
Our brain and body sense the world though our primary senses. The Feldenkrais Method heightens our awareness of our kinaesthetic sense; the part of the nervous system that detects body position and movement of muscles, tendons and joints. The Feldenkrais Method awakens your attention to kinaesthetic sensations and teaches you to improve your posture and movements by refining your ability to sense what feels good.

Individual Feldenkrais Sessions - Functional Integration
Margery offers one-on-one sessions which are ideal for those with chronic problems who need an individually tailored approach. Using gentle hands-on techniques, Margery is able to release postural patterns which cause pain and repetitive strain. The body becomes more integrated to move as a whole, with each part doing what it is designed to do. Margery will teach you how to integrate these changes by using your awareness, and through movement explorations that can be easily done in everyday activities.
